Community engagement is a crucial aspect of local councils’ decision-making processes when it comes to adaptation and mitigation of Climate Change. Engaging with the community helps Huntingdonshire District Council understand the needs and concerns of the people, and to develop policies that are more effective, equitable and sustainable in the face of Climate Change. By involving the community in the decision-making process, we can ensure that their policies are more transparent and accountable, and that they reflect the values and priorities of Huntingdonshire residents.

Huntingdonshire District Council called on residents to take part in dedicated 'Climate Conversation' focus groups that helped and continue to help shape our Climate Strategy. The engagement stage was completed in 2022 but we always encourage all to share thoughts and continue momentum on tackling Climate Change.

In November 2023, the first annual Climate Conference & Climate Community took place continuing the efforts for all to be involved.
