New and existing buildings used as factories, offices and shops are vital in supporting the economy and employment in the district. The Local Plan predicts how many jobs will be created in the district over a certain period, we need to support this job growth through decisions about land and building uses. It can allocate new employment sites, decide what uses and the type of businesses/ sectors that should be supported and in what locations.

We want you to help decide the strategy employment growth, the location of this growth and how we could improve our current approach to employment areas. Chapter 5 of our Further Issues and Options consultation document sets out options for our strategy for employment and economic growth.
